Over 300 Jurisdictions in Texas Begin Warrant Enforcement Period March 2, 2013.
As the City of Houston press release stated, the “Amnesty Period” (Phase I) ended February 16, 2013 and the “Enforcement Period” (Phase II) begins March 2, 2013.
In the largest combined effort to date, 300 jurisdictions across Texas will being “rounding-up” individuals with outstanding warrants. According to the law enforcement agencies participating this year, they will aggressively target individuals on the warrant list by visiting their homes and their work place. Moreover, some jurisdictions have assigned special task forces to locate individuals with outstanding warrants through the license plate recognition program. Once arrested, these individuals will be brought to court to address their outstanding warrants before a judge.
